ABOUT
Dr Cathy Walton is an oncologist from Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape Province. Her practice is well-known for treating patients as complete beings. She has respect for patient autonomy. She firmly believes that knowledge is power and that communication, care, and dignity is imperative in a healing environment.
She established her solo private practice in 2023 as there is more availability and access to international standards of care in private practice. She maintains high standards of care and must be on the cutting edge of advancements in treatments.
Dr Walton reached a remarkable milestone when she carried out the Port Elizabeth unit’s first remote Gamma Knife radiosurgery on a patient, managing the procedure from Port Elizabeth while her patient was in Johannesburg.
She decided to venture into medical studies as she believed she could give back to society and make a positive difference in difficult situations. She is most passionate about providing holistic care to her patients providing emotional and medical support and treating them with honesty and integrity.
Dr Walton is involved in the following social responsibility programs: Cancer Care Bears, the Veronica Minnie Cancer Support Trust and the Igazi Foundation.
